The update includes:
- Modified folder structure for 0.9.17.0.1
- Reworked textures (bare metal on previous versions was too shiny)
- Steel chevron tracks
- Removal of lod1-4 models (only lod0 is being loaded which reduces res_mods file size)
Remove previous versions of this remodel before installing (Delete the “A63_M46_Patton” folder at “World_of_Tanks\res_mods\0.9.17.0.1\vehicles\american”)

121 – Soon™
Shhh, there is no T-34-2, I don’t know what you’re talking about.
I rarely post work in progress stuff here but this one really deserves it in my opinion. Done so far are gun and turret models. Hull is next and I might…. probably won’t play around with the chassis model.

Now this wasn’t done one a cheap $100 Android OS phone *trollface* but it should hold up just fine 😉
This is also my first ever time using Substance Painter 2 to do texturing work on some turret parts (Applique armour parts with the rubber flaps)
Here we go again. I’m actually trying not to laugh too hard and wake up my neighbours but it seems Mikeyboy figured out that I was bundling the last 2 releases with a readme stating “if you got this from anywhere else than Github it’s stolen“. He also managed to remove some of the watermarks on the textures while failing to edit the ones in the alpha channels of the albedo maps. On an Android you only can edit that much, alpha channels are not possible afaik. Well shit Mikey, well shit. Maybe go pirate Photoshop for Android, that might help you.
The best thing though is that he simply took the files from “World_of_Tanks\res_mods\0.9.17.0.1\vehicles\milkym4n\J16_ST_B1″ and copied them to “World_of_Tanks\res_mods\0.9.17.0.1\vehicles\japan\J16_ST_B1\” completely forgetting a lot of file references in the actual 3D mesh files which all point to my original path.
For some reason he also got rid of the J14_Type_61.xml vehicle script in “World_of_Tanks\res_mods\0.9.17.0.1\scripts\item_defs\vehicles\japan”. This is a crucial file for the remodel to work so without it you can guess what’s gonna happen… yeap the game crashes to desktop when you select the STB-1 in your garage or have one in a battle and you get an error log in your python.log stating
CRITICAL: [Exception] [Compound] Failed to load model vehicles/japan/J16_ST_B1/normal/lod0/Chassis.model! Compound building failed!
I really wonder why this is happening. Could it be the missing XML or the file path that was changed. I don’t know… well of couse I know but I want to let Mikeyboy figure it out himself since he’s the one figuring out remodeling on an Android device 😀
It seems that the current remodels work without having to be updated. If you don’t want to wait for an official update just copy the zip files into the 0.9.17.0.1 folder instead of 0.9.16.
Not compatible remodels:
- FV4202 (both remodels)(only top speed indicator not working)
- Pz.Kpfw. 38 TM (VK 28.01)
Alrighty, so most people probably already have guess what the previous post was about so no need to hide the obvious 😛
The Type 74 got some improvements to its original model.
Gone is that original detailless glass in front of the light which has been replaced by shutters the IRL module had.

I’ve also replaced the old style band tracks with segmented links that react to tank motion and recoil.
9.17 is already out on the RU cluster and soon to hit the other regions.
This time updates on remodels will roll out slower and not on day 1 as I’ll be testing their patch compatibility with replays and training room battles to ensure minimal conflicts.
Remodels that will be up-to-date first are going to be tanks I own in the game and don’t have to wait for replays to appear on wotreplays.com or other replay hosts.
Sidenote: Asking when a specific tank will get updated won’t get you nowhere so don’t even bother. Those comments will go straight to the trash bin.
So there’s apparently this dude on VK stealing other modder’s stuff which is just mind blowing. What sort of low-life does one have to be for that, come on now.
He can remove the watermark on the top left but not the one on the tank itself. Bloody moron 😀
Going forward I’ll be watermarking the preview images more heavily. If you guys downloaded one of my remodels somewhere else than the ModShop Github I can’t guarantee anything.
Wargaming added in a new levels and joints mechanic for their animated models like guns and chassis.
With that we can fix various things like the stabilizer springs on the Super Pershings
Or have suspension that doesn’t just move up and down but pivots along an axis like real life tank suspensions do.
